Objectives:

 The fundamental objectives of CETED are as follows.

 1.   To conduct research and development works to develop appropriate environmental technology and facilitate technology diffusion and transfer.

2.   To manage natural resources to maintain ecological balance.

3.   To assist poverty alleviation through income generating activities.

4.   To carry out participatory training in matters related to natural resources management, pollution control and poverty alleviation.

5.   To co-ordinate with national and international organizations of similar objectives and nature and generate technical assistance and  funds.
